I ought to just call this 'experiencing Illinois on your Harley' being as that's always how we end up visiting all the places we go to. Today we rode down to the Chocolate Factory at Dixon Springs.
The Chocolate Factory is a small but well stocked specialty candy store, and all the chocolates are made right there on site. We always stop for the ice cream, they have a whole bunch of flavors and offer hand made chocolate dipped waffle cones :)

They are open Mon-Sat 9:00 - 5:00, all year, but they are NOT open Sundays (we've been there twice thinking they were >_< )

How to get there (from 57):
Take exit 44 to merge onto I-24E (15 m)
Take exit 16 for IL- 146 towards Vienna/Golconda (.3 m)
Turn Left onto I-146 E. (22 m)
Turn Left onto I-146/Adams st (3 m)
Destination is on the left directly across from Dixon Springs State Park.
